About the Author

I've always been an artist and an avid reader of all genres, finding my passion centered around Fantasy, Science Fiction, and especially Horror (Splatterpunk), Thriller, and Mystery. As a child, I used drawings to tell my stories. I started with simple illustrations, moving on to picture books based around a series or character, then to comic books, and ultimately novels.
Over the years, I have and continue to attend public events such as critique groups or "novel pods" in a vigorous attempt to network. I have read and studied any-and-everything about publishing, writing, and grammar, striving to be as knowledgeable a writer as I possibly can be.
In 2001 at the age of 13, I started my first two novels. I'd give drafts to my teachers in middle- and high school and have them act as copy-editors, as well as offering advice and critiques. In 2007, I finished the first book in the quadrilogy and began work on the second. In 2011, I polished Part 1, which I am currently seeking representation for. On the side, I am also completing a Horror/Mystery novel, which will be the start of a number of horror/thriller/mystery novels I intend on writing. More
Next to writing, I draw, though not nearly as much as I used to. I illustrate characters or places in my stories. Although I write adult books, I'd like to think one day, I'll be able to add illustrations to my works, much like in Susanna Clarke's Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.I run through books at a fierce pace, sometimes reading three or four 400-something page books over the course of 2 to 3 days. I love authors with styles like Richard Laymon, Bentley Little, and especially classics like J. M. Barrie or Lloyd Alexander. When I'm not reading, I am usually watching movies. I'm a film fanatic and spend as much on DVDs as most girls my age spend on clothes and make-up. And while I'm watching movies, I'm probably on my Mac typing some html or surfing the net. I am a geek at heart, and nothing makes me happier than spending a weekend in my room playing a good flick in the background with my face glued to the computer!
